Grades 4–7

ONE 2-WEEK SESSION: June 22 – July 2

This special 2-week camp will walk students through 2 and 3 dimensional artistic concepts and various mediums starting with a project using two types of clay and glaze (fused glass and wire sculpture may also be explored). Other projects include painting a landscape with watercolors, experimenting with acrylics on canvas, and with oil and chalk pastels. We will finish by creating a challah cover or framed silk painting. Art Camp is taught by Avril Butbul who has over twenty years of experience teaching art to children. Each day also includes traditional activities and swimming.


Digital Photography/Journalism

Grades 4–7

ONE 2-WEEK SESSION: July 6 – 17

For the family shutterbug! Discover digital design techniques and basic photography skills. Learn how to edit and manipulate images using graphics software. Projects begin with inserting photos into e-mails and advance to creating albums. Campers participate in traditional activities, swimming, and a field trip to Balboa Park.

Campers are responsible for his or her own cameras — the JCC has a limited number to share.


Web Design

 Grades 4–7

ONE 2-WEEK SESSION: July 20 – 31

Learn about web-building skills through easy-to-use instructions and hands-on experience. Campers learn the basics of HTML and programming, then move on to time-saving authoring tools. Projects include creating his or her own personal pages that will be made live on the web. Campers also participate in traditional activities, arts & crafts, music, and swimming.


Broadway Jaycee

Grades 9– 12

ONE 2-WEEK SESSION: July 26–August 6 (Sun.–Thurs., 4 Hrs - 4:00–8:00 P.M.)

Broadway San Diego and Camp Jaycee are teaming up to create this amazing 2-week long camp for theatre loving teens, grades 9–12. Activities include singing, dancing and acting. We will have guest presenters from Broadway, National Tours and local theatre, a backstage tour of the beautiful Civic Theatre Downtown, as well as a question and answer session after seeing the popular production of A New Musical, Wicked, The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz. At the end of the two weeks there will be a presentation, sharing what campers have learned. Please send picture/resumé with letter of recommendation with the camp registration form. Acceptance will be based on experience. Spaces are limited.

• develop a personal activities resume for a more detailed application and for teacher and counselor letters of recommendation…
• complete the UC, CSU and common applications for easy transfer to the online applications in the Fall…
• brainstorm, draft, and write personal statements, short answer, and other essays for individual applications.
