What is your preschooler doing this summer? How about sending him/her to a place where every day provides a new adventure? Each week at Camp Keshet, your preschooler participates in a theme-based set of activities where the focus is fun. Swimming, art, music, sports, drama, science, nature, and play are all a part of your preschooler’s day. Our experienced and dedicated staff provides a multi-sensory program in our state-of-the-art facilities. Your child’s curiosity and imagination thrive in a loving and safe environment. Part and full-time programs are available for children between the ages of 18 months through four years. Enrichment classes and field trips are included for four-year-old children participating in the five full-day program.

This program promotes social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development in a nurturing and safe environment. Two, three and five day options are available.

Age 4

According to recent studies, bilingual children have increased self-esteem, improved understanding and acceptance of other cultures, and improved ability in learning English. Join this successful cutting edge language immersion program, where preschoolers enjoy all the adventurous Camp Keshet activities, only speaking and hearing in Spanish! Designed for campers with little or no foreign language knowledge.


Age 2

TWO 4-WEEK SESSIONS: Wednesdays & Fridays, 9:00 am–12:00 pm
Session 1: June 24 – July 17
Session 2: July 22 – August 14

This parent participation program is designed for parents to help their two-year-olds transition to attending preschool. Classes meet 9:00 A.M. to 12;00 P.M. for three hours of sensory enriched activities. Parents participate alongside their children, encouraging involvement in art projects, circle and music times, and outside play. During the eight weeks, watch your child develop independence and confidence as they turn more to the teacher for direction and feedback.

Camp Gesher

In Camp Gesher, your child enjoys a variety of summer activities as he/she develops existing skills and acquires new ones. On the first day of camp, Gesher campers choose their own chugim (electives) based on their personal interests and grades. Weekly themes and field trips provide a framework for this spirited camp. On Fridays, Gesher enjoys story time in the Astor Judaica Library. Each session, campers enjoy a late night activity that includes sports, games, dinner, and a movie. Energetic counselors lead each grade unit in this traditional well-rounded camp.

Habla Español? If you want your child to receive intensive instruction in Spanish, our 4-week Spanish Camp is an exciting way to incorporate language studies into your child’s summer schedule. In this program, your child will learn Spanish while participating in all of Camp Jaycee’s traditional programs (swimming, games, music, arts, and sports).


Grades 4 –7

FOUR 2-WEEK SESSIONS:
Session 1: June 22 – July 2 Session 3: July 20 –31
Session 2: July 6 – 17 Session 4: August 3 – 14

Hevra campers participate in a range of activities including sports, swimming, crafts, and music. During the first week, campers enjoy traditional camp activities plus a San Diego day-trip and participation in community service projects. Projects help to serve the community we live in and also give campers a sense of responsibility. The second week focuses on a specific theme. In addition, each 2-week session includes a late-night or sleepover at the JCC. Don’t miss this fulfilling and unforgettable experience! The second week of each session, campers will enjoy the following: NOTE: During Session 3 the theme will be during the first week. 

SESSION 1
Mad Science Robots & Reactions Discover the incredible things that robots can do. Learn about balance and center of gravity as you build your very own rolling robot! Experiment with robotic arms and infrared robots. Work with simple machines that can lift objects and launch them into the air. Learn the basics of chemistry and be amazed by radical reactions. Take home projects include a Roly-Poly Robot, super ball, catapult launcher, rocket racer, camera obscura, Mad Science silly putty and more! 

SESSION 2
All About San Diego Take a journey through San Diego on this week-long adventure. We’ll explore Heritage Park in Old Town and enjoy a Mexican lunch featuring authentic dishes. Then we will make a splash on the Land and Sea Seal bus tour. This bus travels on land and in the water to showcase beautiful aspects of San Diego’s marine culture and on-land attractions. Then go downtown to visit the Historic Gaslamp District and take a tour of Petco Park. Camp will finish off the adventure with a trip to Coronado Island. After this week of fun, excitement, and adventure, your camper.

SESSION 3
Sea Camp San Diego Sea Camp is located right next to the beach in La Jolla—making it ideal to discover the ocean and shore. This session is highlighted by Sea Camp San Diego Snorkeling & Marine Lab and includes visits to tide pools and Stephen Birch Aquarium. 

SESSION 4
San Diego Natural History Museum - Roar Like a Dinosaur We will travel to the museum in Balboa Park for an excursion back through time to the golden dinosaur age of the Mesozoic Era and get to know the awesome beasts of long ago. We’ll also uncover the fossil mysteries left behind from the prehistoric habitats and puzzle together what it was like to roam when the dinosaurs roared.
