Our Mission

For 79 years, we have been dedicated to creating magical experiences for children of all backgrounds and ages, from 18 months to 12th grade. Our ACA-accredited camp offers a diverse menu of programs, including Traditional, Sports, Spanish Immersion, Teen, Theatre, and more. Our passionate and dedicated leaders, many of whom started as campers, ensure that every child builds self-confidence and discovers new interests. We proudly welcome transgender, intersex, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming campers, fostering inclusivity and acceptance. This year, we’re excited to introduce satellite locations and virtual camps, expanding accessibility. At Camp Jaycee, we are committed to providing recreational and social programs for children with disabilities, and conducting intake meetings to ensure adequate support. Join us for an unforgettable summer filled with adventures, friends, and the unique Camp Jaycee experience!

Vision Statement

Camp Jaycee is a bedrock community providing a safe, rich, and inclusive experience connecting campers and their families to the broader Jewish and San Diego communities through shared values of volunteerism, skill-building, life-long friendships, community engagement, and philanthropy.

Why Camp Jaycee?

  • 1- WE ARE ACA ACCREDITED

American Camping Association (ACA) accreditation means that our camp has undergone a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of operation — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. ACA collaborates with experts from American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to ensure that current practices reflect the most up-to-date research-based standards in camp operation.
  • 2- STAFF EXCELLENCE

When it comes to the staff, no other camp comes close to Camp Jaycee. Our highly qualified staff are American Camping Association (ACA)-trained with focus on child development, group dynamics, age-appropriate programming, first aid, and more. Hands-on attention is guaranteed. Camp Jaycee has one of the best staff-to-camper ratios in San Diego.
  • 3- THE PERFECT PLACE! THE PERFECT SPACE!

We provide everything kids need to have fun indoors and out! Camps take complete advantage of the fantastic JCC facilities including: Friedenberg Olympic-size pool, the 500-seat David & Dorothea Garfield Theatre, the Gotthelf Dance Studio, the Royston Science Lab, the lush Edgar Berner Family Ball Fields, Albert A. Hutler Tennis Courts, and much more.
  • 4- EVERYONE IS INVITED!

Since 1945, we’ve been providing campers with adventure, friendship, and memories. You’ll find kids of all races, religions, and nationalities enjoying Camp Jaycee. There are scholarships available and easy access for children with disabilities. Flexible monthly payment plans are available for summer camp. Please contact Sadeer Jumaah for more information: 858.362.1146. Financial assistance is available.
  • 5- TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM CAMP

We currently offer transportation to and from Rancho Bernardo, 4S Ranch, Del Cerro, Del Mar, and Carmel Valley.
  • 6- SAFETY FIRST AND ALWAYS

Our staff is not only trained in providing fun and engaging activities to kids of all ages, they’re also safety experts. CPR-trained life guards and camp staff, along with our low staff-to-camper ratio, ensure Camp Jaycee is enjoyable and safe. Additionally, the JCC is located next door to the Northern Division of the San Diego Police and Fire Department.
  • 7- SWIMMING LESSONS AND RECREATION

Campers swim every day! The Friedenberg Olympic-size pool has a full deck, a large wading pool, and a huge jacuzzi. American Red Cross-certified instructors provide swim lessons for children from 4 years to third grade.
  • 8- JUDAICA SPECIALISTS

Camp Jaycee is fortunate to have three Shlichim (counselors) from Israel who enrich camp by sharing Jewish customs, dancing, music, Hebrew, and more. Every week concludes with a camp-wide Shabbat celebration.
  • 9- ENDLESS ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGES AND INTERESTS

We have engaging, educational, and fun activities for every child: arts and crafts, ceramics, magic, dance, fencing, archery, music, leadership training, sports, computer programming, swimming, music camps, teen travel, LEGO, science, strings, ultimate Frisbee, Hebrew, Spanish, Ga-Ga, Star Wars and MUCH MORE!!!
  • 10- FULL DAY SCHEDULE

A full day of Camp Jaycee is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with additional hours before and after available through our Extended Care program.
