Seniors Overview
The Senior Adult Department of the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, JACOBS FAMILY CAMPUS, promotes Jewish cultural heritage and values by providing social, educational, and recreational programs. Through these programs we strengthen our connections to our community and keep alive our history and traditions. The Senior Adult Program encourages us to learn, grow and enrich our lives among others who share our values.

"Senior" Prom

CARNIVAL
Who says prom is only for seniors in high school? Relive your childhood memories at this popular annual dance! Singles and couples welcome. Come an hour early for a free salsa dance lesson, or take advantage of complimentary services such as hair styling, make-up or even wardrobe selection! (Appointments necessary for services so we can accommodate everyone.) Music, dancing, group games, food and fun provided--bring your friends, too!
Cost in advance (by June 21): $8/JCC Member; $10/Non-member. After June 21: $15 for everyone. Contact Melanie Rubin to make payment arrangements and for scheduling an appointment for a complimentary service by June 21 at (858) 362-1141.

Day At The Races
Wednesday, August 4
12:15 p.m. meet at JCC to board bus (2:00 p.m. Races begin), 5:00 p.m. leave Del Mar
Whether or not your horse wins, places or shows, we’ll all have fun at our annual outing to the Del Mar Fairgrounds! First timers, don’t worry, an expert will be with us to explain the terminology. Bring a lunch or purchase food at concessions.
$15/JCC Member; $18/Non-member (includes admission, a seat in the shade, and transportation from JCC)
Classical Connections
Join us for the best of theater, music, and visual arts. A new way to enjoy San Diego! Bus transportation provided from the JCC. JCC Members will receive first priority for tickets and transportation. Reservations and payment are required in advance. Contact Melanie Rubin (858) 362-1141 to sign up.
The Whipping Man

Set in Virginia following the final days of the Civil War, a Jewish Confederate soldier returns to his childhood home, only to find it in ruins and occupied by his former slaves, who are preparing for a Seder. Though a new chapter of history is unfolding, dangerous secrets of the past threaten to destroy their family, their connected history, and their shared faith.

San Diego Master Chorale with The Romeros and more

Join us for an enchanted evening with the San Diego Master Chorale showcasing a marvelous mix of melodies from Latin America and Spain. Bus will depart from JCC to Copley Symphony Hall.

The Last Romance

The Last Romance is a heart-warming comedy about the transformational power of love. A crush can make anyone feel young again. On an ordinary day, a widower named Ralph walks on a different path that leads him to an unexpected second chance at love. He attempts to woo the elegant, but distant, Carol (Marion Ross from “Happy Days”). Defying her reticence, Ralph embarks on the trip of a lifetime, and regains a happiness that seemed all but lost.

Please stop by the Senior Department offices or the Fitness Front Desk to fill out an "Emergency Form." These will only be used just in case something should happen to you while participating in a JCC program or working out in our facility, and we need to know whom to contact on your behalf (closest relative, preferred hospital, doctors number, etc.). If you have filled one out in the past, please complete a new one so that we have the most current information available.
