From the Chair
You're invited to join us in San Francisco!
Each year the SDJFF Selection Committee ventures to San Francisco where we scout for films, July 19-26 at the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival. The trip provides an opportunity to engage with other film aficionados and to experience new and exciting films from the perspective of a different audience. We also welcome your participation in our lively breakfast discussions where we critique the films we have seen the previous day. Your involvement in the selection process will heighten your interest in our festival and will create a greater sense of ownership for you in our 23rd annual event.
Please consider becoming an Underwriter for the upcoming San Diego Jewish Film Festival. Your support is invaluable to the success of our event. It will also add to your ease and pleasure as you bypass waiting lines for entry, enjoy snacks at our expanded Nosh and Go, and meet filmmakers at a private brunch. Wear your pass with pride and follow the Underwriter film track for a full festival experience.

From the Producer
Israel 2012 & the South Cinema Film Festival in the Sha'ar Ha Negev
Last week I returned from Israel and a fabulous film festival in San Diego’s sister city of the Sha’ar HaNegev. I feel very privileged to have been their special guest representing the San Diego Jewish Film Festival! Living in the Negev for a week at Kibbutz Dorot gave me a unique and wonderful experience of what it was like to live there. I met with students and professors from Sapir College, as well as leaders in the arts, government and other festivals around the world!
Stay tuned for more information throughout the year for some upcoming projects with our sister city in Israel!
