Purpose:
In accordance with LFJCC’s (JCC) effort to provide and maintain a community gathering place that is free of known hazards, we are adopting this policy regarding COVID-19 to safeguard the health of the JCC’s students, families, members, and guests; the JCC’s employees and their families; and the community at large.
Scope:
All “JCC Users” are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, unless (i) the FDA has not approved the vaccine for the JCC User’s age group, or (ii) a reasonable accommodation exemption request is submitted and approved for the JCC User.
Current JCC Users must submit acceptable proof of being fully vaccinated by October 31, 2021, or submit his/her/their desire for the approval of a reasonable exemption for review on or before October 20, 2021. All JCC Users seeking exemptions will be notified of approval or denial on or before October 31, 2021.
Future JCC Users must submit acceptable proof of being fully vaccinated or receive his/her/their approval of a reasonable exemption request before being allowed access to or to use the JCC.
Definition of a JCC User:
A JCC User is a Member or Guest who will be utilizing the JCC facilities, grounds, or programs, or is a delivery person, contractor or vendor who accesses the JCC more than once per year for more than 15 minutes per visit.
Why doesn’t the policy go into effect until November 1st?
We are striving to encourage more people to make the decision to become vaccinated.
Why isn’t the JCC allowing members and guests to present recent COVID test results in lieu of vaccines?
We believe our requirement that all professional staff must be fully vaccinated (with no exception for negative test results), should apply also to our members and guests. The frequency in which our members and program participants are typically present at the JCC makes accepting COVID tests in lieu of vaccines logistically impractical.
This is private health information—why does the JCC think it can require it?
This policy is intended to comply with all applicable laws and is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health authorities, as applicable.
How do I show proof of vaccination?
Any JCC User over the age of 12 should be prepared to bring in proof of vaccination upon arrival at the facility. Our Guest Services Team will print you a new JCC ID Card (Member of Visitor ID card) to indicate your vaccination status. Your vaccination status will be noted in our customer relationship management system, no detailed information will be stored. Be prepared to show your new JCC ID Card (Member or Visitor ID) daily when entering the facility.
What is acceptable proof of the COVID-19 Vaccine?
- The physical COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card issued at the time of vaccination
- A photograph of your COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card
- A digital vaccination record. All residents of California may request a digital vaccination record at https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/.
- Current JCC ID card with the hologram indicating previous proof of vaccination
Can I email a picture of my vaccination card instead of bringing it in?
Since your vaccination card contains protected health information, please do not send it to us. You must bring proof to us in person.
What if I forget to bring proof of vaccination after October 31, 2021?
Unless you are not age-eligible for vaccination, have been granted a medical or religious/moral exemption or participating only in a government-funded program, you must show proof of vaccination to enter. No exceptions will be allowed.
What if I have a medical condition that prevents me from getting vaccinated or a religious objection to getting vaccinated?
JCC Users requesting an exemption from this policy, due to a medical reason or a sincerely held religious belief, must submit a request for accommodation with supporting documentation to the CEO of the LFJCC for review by a special committee to begin the accommodation process. After the request is submitted, the documentation will be reviewed and a decision will be made in a reasonable period of time as to whether or not the exemption should be granted and accommodations can be made for modified usage.

I have no intention of getting vaccinated, so what now?
We wish you would reconsider your choice because this is a matter of public health. Please contact guestservices@lfjcc.org to modify your membership status should you remain unvaccinated.
How can I get vaccinated?
The JCC will provide assistance to any person with respect to the available vaccines, including information regarding the vaccines, the locations where such vaccines are available, and where needed, provide or pay for transportation to obtain the vaccines.
Visit the San Diego County Health Department website for more information.
Is indoor mask-wearing still required?
Masks are required for all JCC Users (over the age of two) while indoors at the JCC, even if fully vaccinated or granted an exemption.
