Finding the Pearl in Your Oyster: How to Recover Financially After Divorce, Presented by Dave Kershberg, MSBA
Thursday, February 6, 6:00 – 7:30pm | JFS Turk Family Center | 8804 Balboa Ave., San Diego 92123

Has divorce or separation shattered your finances? Does the emotional agony of money troubles make your difficult experience even more traumatic? Are you deprived of fun activities with your children because money is so tight after your divorce? Do you need some help making ends meet, but don’t know where to turn?

If you answered “yes” to one or more of these questions, we have your answers! Please join JFS Programs, Supporting Jewish Single Parents (SJSP) and Master Your Money for a fun and interactive workshop where JFS volunteer and divorce “survivor” Dave Kershberg will discuss how to:

  1. Manage your finances to make it EASIER by putting your money on autopilot.
  2. Make ends meet, even when they seem miles apart.
  3. Find financial help.
  4. Take a fresh new look at money and HAPPINESS.
  5. Find FREE things to do with your children right here in San Diego.

Dave Kershberg, MSBA is a volunteer for multiple programs at JFS, and he calls himself a divorce “survivor,” due to the challenging and heart-breaking nature of his divorce in 1999.  He survived and today brings his excitement, professional expertise, financial knowledge, and desire to provide service to people in need in every program he serves.  While obtaining his MBA at SDSU, he took an elective in financial planning and soon after changed his educational focus because he wanted to help people with their money problems.  Even before he finished his degree in Financial Planning, Dave was already giving back to local schools through volunteering with Junior Achievement. He serves as a volunteer Resume Facilitator with Employment & Career Services, a Financial Educator with Ways to Work, and a Financial Literacy Advocate for Master Your Money.

FREE EVENT! A light dinner will be provided and childcare is available. Space is limited. RSVP by February 3rd to Tiffany Sheets at (858) 637-3067 or

SDJA Preschool
San Diego Jewish  Academy Early Childhood Center will be offering a new Parent Participation class this fall especially tailored for our infants and  toddlers.

SDJA takes a balanced approach to early childhood education. At the core of our philosophy, we believe that each child is unique and therefore deserves individual attention and care. We incorporate the best practices from different theories and philosophies (child-centered, teacher-directed, project-based, theme-based, emergent curriculum, group collaboration) and create a warm and inviting Jewish preschool environment where the child is at the center of all we do.

The Classroom:
The preschool’s classroom environment is designed as a teaching laboratory, offering creative spaces that stimulate thinking, foster relationships and promote a child’s sense of identity as an individual and as part of the larger community. SDJA Preschool provides all children with the support of nurturing staff and a stimulating environment that enhances every child’s educational experience.

The Fine Points:
• Five, three and two day a week preschool programs
• Fosters a strong school-home connection with families
• Six specialties incorporated in the curriculum: music, art, PE, library, science and computer
• Seamless transition into kindergarten and Golda Meir Lower School
• Over 30 years’ experience in highest quality Jewish education
• Successful pluralistic SDJA philosophy

For more information on SDJA’s new preschool or Early Childhood Development Program, please contact our admissions department at (858) 704-3716 or

Interested in touring our campus? Take one of our “Tuesday Tours.”

Tuesday Tours are a "taste" of SDJA. These sessions are smaller and more intimate than our Open House visits. You will have the opportunity to see classes in action and speak with administrators. We also encourage families to return for a more in-depth view of the school at one of our prospective parent Open House events. Pre-registration is required.

For details, or to register, please contact our admissions department at (858) 704-3716 or
