MESSAGE FROM THE TEEN DIRECTOR

Dear Teens & Parents,
As the Teen Director at the Lawrence Family
Jewish Community Center, it is with great
pride and joy to be able to work with the
Jewish teens of San Diego.
I am impressed by their determination and
tremendous capabilities to be outstanding leaders
and mentors of the communities they live in. Whether
it’s joining our Teen Leadership Council (TLC) or being a Junior
Counselor at our Camp Jaycee, the teens have shown their willingness
to step outside their comfort zones and make a difference in
other’s lives. It is with this in mind that we have developed new
programs in the JCC Teen Department designed to foster this type
of engagement. These programs will include service opportunities,
college-prep workshops and leadership development courses all
catered to the growth of confident, able and mature young adults.
And let’s not forget about the amazing social events we have in
store, such as our second “Club J”, the nightclub for teens!
I would also like to introduce the 2008-2009 Parent Committee Co-Chairs
Liz Coden and Leslie Siegel! They will
be working with other parent volunteers to help facilitate the upcoming
opportunities within the teen department.
I look forward to seeing and meeting you all at our programs in 2009!
