Kathleen A. Balgley
Kathleen A. Balgley holds a Ph.D. In Literature from University of California, San Diego. A tenured Associate Professor of English at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, she also taught at UCLA, UCSD, and the San Diego Jewish Academy. She won a Fulbright to communist Poland where she taught American literature and researched the issue of Polish antisemitism. This experience forms the heart of her memoir, “Letters to My Father: Excavating a Jewish Identity in Poland and Belarus”, Bashert Press, along with the story of her discovering her family’s history in archives in Poland and Belarus.
