In Vista, July 24 - August 11th (Monday - Friday)
This summer, the Lawrence Family JCC will launch a Jewish day camp experience for elementary-aged campers in Vista and the surrounding areas, offering a whole year’s worth of Jewish holidays and traditions in just 3 weeks. We’ll kick off camp with some Rosh Hashanah ruach (spirit) and close out summer together with a Shavuot send-off, cheesecake and all. Campers and counselors will spend a full three weeks together, building a community of Jewish joy, belonging, and FUN! Expect many of the classic summer camp activities like sports, arts, and music - along with Challah baking, Sukkah building, and more! All are welcome, regardless of religious background.

Time: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (Monday - Friday)
Ages: Campers must be entering grades 1st - 5th, attending elementary school in the 23-24 school year
Location: Thibodo Park & Ranch House: 1150 Lupine Hills Dr, Vista, CA 92081
Capacity: 50 campers total, 6 counselors (8:1 camper to counselor ratio)
$750 for all 3 weeks. Ask about discounts for military families!

What if I need financial assistance?

What if my child has an IEP or 504 plan, or requires other inclusion services?
The JCC is committed to expanding community access to recreational and social programs for children with disabilities. Admission is on a space-available basis. Prior to enrolling a child with special needs, an intake meeting must take place to determine if we have adequate support for the individual needs of the child.

Can I register for just 1 or 2 weeks of Camp Jeighborhood, or do I need to register for all 3 weeks?
The intention behind Camp Jeighborhood is to nurture and support the Jewish community in the Oceanside/Vista/San Marcos region by connecting children and families to one another during and beyond the camp experience. We know that Jewish camp has the potential to foster lifelong friendships, and that extended time together is crucial for campers to build lasting connections. We encourage you to think of this camp as more than a safe and fun childcare option, but as a stepping stone in your child’s Jewish journey!
What kinds of activities and field trips can I expect my child to participate in?
Camp Jeighborhood is all about exploring what’s fun and unique in your neighborhood! Field trips will focus on nature and community and may include the following:
- Coastal Roots Farm
- Sha-Beach! Days
- Oceanside Museum of Art
- Moonlight Theatre
- Each camper will participate in a field trip 1-2 times per week.
- Daily activities will include arts and crafts, mock holiday celebrations, cooking, baking, singing, dancing, pickleball, relay races, and theater games. Depending on the activity, campers may be grouped according to age or interest. There will also be breaks for lunch, snacks, and unstructured play.
What if my child isn’t Jewish?
No problem! Campers do NOT need to be Jewish or have any familiarity with Jewish culture to have a blast at camp Jeighborhood! We will be learning about and experiencing various holidays and traditions that pertain to Jewish culture, but religious education is not the focus of this experience. Campers of all faiths and faith traditions are welcome at Camp Jeighborhood.
Will this camp provide meals? Are there food restrictions?
All campers must bring their own lunch and 2 snacks. Campers arriving before 9 am are also welcome to bring breakfast to eat before programming begins at 9 am. All meals must be dairy (no meat, tuna OK) and nut-free (no peanut butter or tree nuts). Camp Jeighborhood will also provide snacks and program-related bites throughout the week.
